HYPACK®

This guide may be used to check a test RAW file recorded in HYPACK to make sure the driver setup is correct. The time stamps of the recorded RAW data lines are inspected to check that the time stamps are written correctly and no time offsets are present. Time offsets might be very small – from a few milliseconds – to very large – several hours.

HYPACK offers two methods to acquire data when using CEE echo sounders with the proprietary time-stamped output format. When using the echo sounder and GNSS alone, as in most SBES surveys, the special CEE time stamps may be used for maximum timing precision. If using ancillary devices without time stamped data such as side scan, an alternative driver setup is required.

The CEE HydroSystems CEESCOPE™ and CEE ECHO™ can record all survey data on internal
memory and a connected USB flash drive. These data may be easily imported into a HYPACK or
Hydromagic project for editing, however it is important to follow the appropriate procedure to ensure
the desired project geodesy and measurement units are properly set up in the final data file.

Environmental Business Specialists (EBS) runs a survey-grade effluent lagoon mapping program in the southern USA with a CEESCOPE™ on a manned boat and a CEE-USV™ unmanned survey boat, both logging in HYPACK®. The USV reaches fenced, hazardous and very small ponds, cuts the crew from three to two and gives better coverage in small lagoons.

BayLand Consultants & Designers chose the CEE ECHO™ with HYPACK for shallow water surveys in the Chesapeake Bay. The compact system improved survey craft flexibility and mobilization time, and training in full water column echograms lets BayLand more quickly identify and remove submerged aquatic vegetation signals.

Mare Island Dry Dock fitted its new survey boat with an RTK CEESCOPE™ and HYPACK® to monitor sediment around its dry docks in-house. With California Real Time Network RTK corrections it gets a few-centimetre horizontal accuracy and survey results in one day, at an accuracy at least as good as paid third-party single beam surveys.

Louisiana-based Hydroline LLC surveys frac water storage ponds and pits with a single-person system built around the all-in-one CEESCOPE™ and HYPACK®. The detailed 20Hz sounding data produce volume surveys that are demonstrably superior to the industry standard.
